Residential Fire Suppression Apprentice
Sprinkler Fitters Apprentices are pipefitting specialists in training in the fire protection industry. Western States Fire Protection is seeking qualified applicants, who are either in UA Local 669 Sprinkler Fitters or will become a member of the union, for this position.
Job Responsibilities
- Install, repair and maintain all types of extinguishing systems; including underground piping
- Install, repair and maintain all types of residential fire sprinkler systems; including homes, apartments and retro-fits
- Responsible for installing and servicing a variety of other fire protection equipment, such as standpipes, fire pimps and dry systems
- Travel within the states of Colorado and Wyoming to work on various locations/job sites; as necessary
- Comply with the union collective bargaining agreement
Job Qualifications
- Willing to join the sprinkler fitters local union
- A high school diploma or GED is required
- At least 18 years old; per local union requirements
- Willing to lift up to at least 50 pounds; with or without reasonable accommodation
- Willing to climb ladders and use aerial lifts; with or without reasonable accommodation
- Ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment
- Strong mechanical background is preferred
- Willing to pass a pre-employment drug test, background and reference check; if applicable
