Alarm & Detection Technician

The function of this position is to provide reliable, high quality customer support through on-site inspecting, installing, repairing and/or replacing fire alarm equipment as well as conducting preventive maintenance services pertaining to many different manufacturers equipment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Capable of trouble shooting and repairing fire alarm systems on individual basis
  • Experienced in fire alarm panel programming with one or more Manufacturers
  • Capable of reading and interrupting blueprints, wiring diagrams, and installation manuals
  • Capable of installing fire alarm systems on own from start to finish including Fire Department Testing
  • Tests all equipment after installation or repairs made to ensure proper performance of the fire alarm system
  • Work in compliance with the Company’s safety manual with safety of self and others in mind at all times
  • Daily communications with Project Manager and/or Schedule Coordinator on inspection or project delays, requirements and general status of jobs
  • Responsible for training apprentices on Company procedures, systems inspection and installation techniques
  • All work is performed to NFPA, IFC, and Company standards with quality inspection and installation techniques practiced
  • Works with Project Manager, Schedule Coordinator and Office Administrative Staff to ensure complete closeout and turnover of jobs to the client (Ensure that work is completed so it can be billed in full)

Job Qualifications

  • Knowledge of NFPA 72 and IFC codes
  • NICET Level II preferred or
  • NICET I Certification within 8 Months after start date
  • NICET II Certification within 18 months after start date
  • Fire Alarm Technicians License (Nevada F Card)
  • General knowledge of other Low Voltage Systems (Video, Access Control, Tele Data, and Commercial Security)
  • Willing to pass a pre-employment drug test, background and reference check
