Residential Fire Suppression Installer

The Residential Fire Suppression Installer is a specialist in the fire protection industry and Western States Fire Protection is seeking applicants who will handle the installation of fire protection systems for residential projects.

Training is available for entry-level candidates and no High School Diploma or GED is required to work but an employee is able to gain the certification while employed; if desired. Pay and benefits will be in accordance with the local union agreement. Western States Fire Protection is regarded as an industry leader and all employees are provided the opportunity to advance their careers and skills.

The posting is for a specific residential job located in Colorado Springs, CO which is estimated to take 12 months to complete. Once the job is over; the Residential Fire Suppression Installers hired for the job may be eligible to work for our Denver and/or Glenwood Springs branches.

Job Responsibilities

  • Install, repair and maintain all types of residential fire suppression systems, including homes, apartments and retro-fits
  • Installation of overhead wet-pipe fire sprinkler systems
  • Run new projects and complete systems on time and correctly
  • Maintain records by documenting installations
  • Maintain customer rapport by resolving concerns and answering questions
  • Maintain a safe and secure work environment by following OSHA and Company’s code of safe practices

Job Qualifications

  • Willing to join the fire sprinklers local union
  • At least 18 years old; per local union requirements
  • Willing to lift up to at least 50 pounds; with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Willing to climb ladders
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment
  • Proficient verbal communication skills in English and/or Spanish
  • Possess exceptional leadership skills
  • Ability to solve problems
  • Willing to pass a pre-employment drug test, background and reference check; if applicable
